Health Education

The Teen Health Center prides itself on health education we provide our clients at each clinic visit.

We Provide Health Education

• Abstinence is stressed and encouraged at every opportunity.
• Be prepared to take a pre test on pregnancy related issues, birth control, std’s and other related topics to evaluate your base knowledge.
• You will also have a post test at the end of your visit to evaluate your progress.
• All counseling is confidential and one on one.
• We collaborate in the community on teen related issues.
• We use every opportunity to expand your knowledge
• There is extensive literature available on teen health related topics
• We have an “up to date” video library on teen related topics.
• Health related videos are shown in the center on a continuous basis.
• We use learning tools as needed
• Our nurses receive the best, most current, specialized training in related topics and are carefully chosen to work well with the teen population.

Our goal is to ensure that our teen clients fully understand the consequences of unprotected sex, that they are able to make informed choices, and have an understanding of all of the associated risks.
